Helle Juul
Arkitekt MAA, MNAL Ph.D., CEO

Helle Juul is widely recognized for her significant contributions to making cities more livable, sustainable, and health-oriented. As the founding partner of Juul Frost Architects, she holds overall responsibility for both national and international projects, with a strong focus on integrating health into urban environments.

Educated in urban design and urban development, Helle also teaches in these fields. Her practice is rooted in the belief that the city serves as a fundamental frame of reference. She emphasizes that architecture involves working across all scales—from the small, intimate spaces of individual buildings to the broader context of neighborhoods and entire cities. Her approach consistently seeks to enhance mental, physical, and social well-being through the built environment.

Helle also serves as a consultant to many of the largest educational institutions in urban development and urban space design. Campus consultancy projects represent another critical area of her work, where she advises some of Scandinavia’s leading educational institutions. Throughout her career, the integration of research and evidence-based design has been a consistent theme, profoundly influencing the DNA of Juul Frost Architects.

By championing the concept of future urban health culture, Helle Juul is at the forefront of a movement that sees urban planning and architecture as vital tools for improving public health. Her work continues to shape cities that are not only sustainable and livable but also inherently supportive of the well-being of their inhabitants
